At CBB Design Firm, we don’t rely on a one-size-fits-all style. Instead, every project begins with a careful look at the natural environment surrounding the home. The setting becomes a guiding influence, mountain homes, for example, call for an entirely different palette of colors and textures than those by the coast or in a big city.

Our main office and showroom, located in the picturesque mountains of North Carolina, offers endless inspiration. The rich landscapes here often shape the way we think about comfort, materials, and flow within a space.

The home pictured above, nestled on the shores of Lake James in the North Carolina mountains, is a perfect example. Throughout its design, we wanted to blur the line between indoors and outdoors, allowing the natural beauty of the setting to carry into the home itself. To achieve this, we leaned into organic elements like unpainted wood cabinetry and natural stone countertops. We layered in warm, neutral tones and inviting lighting to create an atmosphere that feels both grounded and cozy—an interior that reflects the allure of the mountains just outside its windows.
